We were the first company to operate offshore solar in high-wave offshore conditions and the first to connect offshore solar inside an offshore wind farm. Our next step is to turn growing interest from offshore wind developers, utilities, governments and project developers into qualified opportunities, signed agreements and commercial projects.

Build the Commercial Engine Behind Offshore Solar 

The market for offshore solar is emerging fast. Oceans of Energy already has a strong story, proven technology, environmental credibility and an international network. What we now need is a commercially sharp professional who can convert market interest into qualified opportunities, proposals, MoUs, FEED contracts and commercial projects.

As Business Developer, you will help turn interest in offshore solar into concrete commercial opportunities. You will identify and qualify promising markets, build relationships with prospective customers, and coordinate proposals and negotiations through to agreement. Working closely with colleagues responsible for market intelligence, marketing and public affairs, and with sales engineers, you will connect customer needs with technically credible solutions. Through our innovative customer roadmap, you will turn opportunities into credible offers, support deal structuring and help build the commercial processes needed for repeatable sales execution.

Qualifications and Skills

• 5+ years of commercial experience, preferably in renewable energy, offshore or infrastructure environments.

• Proven ability to qualify opportunities, structure commercial propositions and move leads through a disciplined, repeatable sales process from first interest to signed agreement.

• Experience with complex sales cycles, including proposal development, pricing, negotiations, contract preparation and stakeholder management.

• Able to translate technical project input into client value, commercial offers and clear decision-making materials. Experience working effectively with technical or engineering teams, combined with commercial, investment or project development experience, is strongly valued.

• Familiarity with feasibility studies, FEED, EPCI, tenders, MoUs or large project contracting is highly valued.

• Experience with (international) offshore wind, utility-scale solar, project developers, infrastructure investors or public-private energy projects is an advantage.

• Structured, proactive and disciplined in pipeline management, follow-up and reporting to the MT.

• Commercially sharp, hands-on and pragmatic, with excellent English communication and negotiation skills; additional languages are a plus.

This position is based at our headquarters in Sassenheim, near Leiden, and is available for 24–40 hours per week. We prefer candidates who are regularly present in the office and live in the Randstad area; working remotely one day per week is possible.
