As we expand our team, we are seeking a motivated and passionate Junior Sales Engineer to join us in driving the adoption of our cutting-edge offshore solar technologies, with focus on Netherlands and North Sea Region.
As our Sales Engineer you will conduct project management tasks in the sales process and align the technical interface with the commercial team, addressing client inquiries & concerns and setting out targets for the engineering department to resolve these concerns in our standard documentation. To do this, you will be in contact with clients and policy stakeholders to understand their specific needs and collaborate with our engineering team for providing standardized solutions that align with their requirements. To do this, you will be both challenged on a technical perspective as well as from a commercial perspective.
Oceans of Energy is world leader in offshore solar and as sales engineer you will establish new projects based on our extensive track record. We have been awarded the first commercial contract for an offshore solar farm that will be installed and interconnected within a windfarm (Hollandse Kust Noord) in the North Sea. Our current offshore solar farm system, the first in the world in high waves, has been elemental for learning, including the T&I scopes. Learning is key at Oceans of Energy, also during our delivery of this commercial project.
About Oceans of Energy:
Oceans of Energy is a young, passionate and fast-growing company. We installed the world’s first offshore solar farm in 2019 and have since been operating it in severe offshore conditions. It is our aim to enable the world to generate clean energy from the abundance of space at sea instead of those scarce locations on land. Our modular offshore solar farm has been operational at sea for several years now and as we are extending it, we are monitoring it extensively. Together with knowledge institutes, NGO’s and universities, we assess the impact on nature and marine life as well as to explore nature-enhancing opportunities around offshore solar.
Your responsibilities and tasks:
- Gain expertise in our offshore solar systems and communicate their technical advantages effectively.
- Collaborate with sales and engineering departments to create compelling proposals and technical documentation.
- Conduct technology analysis to understand key selling points and how to capture these in proposals.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and present time effective solutions.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide project management support during the sales process, addressing client inquiries and concerns.
Why you want to work at Oceans of Energy:
- Offshore solar is the fastest and most scaleable renewable energy technology, and Oceans of Energy is leading this development.

- You will get a flexible time off policy, which means you will not have a strict maximum number of leave days a year. We believe that our employees can judge themselves when it is time to push and when it is time to take a break.
- We believe that Learning is Key. This means that there are plenty of chances for you to learn and grow at our scale-up.
- We also often arrange (voluntary) extra curriculum events, such as sailing events, campsites, BBQ’s, Xmas party and of course Friday afternoon drinks.
